We’re less than 40 days from opening the gates to the 3rd annual World Maker Faire in New York City! 
Momentum is building, and we can’t wait to see what amazing projects makers bring to town this year. There are still opportunities to participate or assist our team, and we’re certain this show will be our best yet. We hope to see you there!
Call for Makers is Extended!
Our biggest news of the moment is the Call for Makers has been extended – but only for one more week. The deadline is now set for 11:59pm PST on Friday, August 24th. So apply NOW to have your project considered for the greatest show (and tell!) on Earth.
BIG!NYC Supports MakersMaker Faire is proud to be partnering with Build It Green! NYC, New York City’s only non-profit reuse center with surplus and salvaged building materials.
Accepted participants will be given a maker number, a unique identifying code. Use your maker number at BIG!NYC and receive 25% off materials for your project (good until September 30th). That’s incentive enough to participate in Maker Faire! BIG!NYC is open every day, has locations in Astoria, Queens, and Gowanus, Brooklyn, and you can even donate materials back to BIG!NYC after Maker Faire for re-use in another project.
Join the Street Team
There’s still time to join the World Maker Faire Street Team. Whether you’re attending an event or passing by a shop in your neighborhood, please help spread the good word throughout New York City and earn some tickets to the faire.
Join the Maker Corps Training Program
If you’re looking to help make Maker Faire happen, then the Maker Corps Training Program is for you. Assist our team with 4-hour blocks of your time, and get a behind-the-scenes look at producing the world’s largest DIY festival. In return, you’ll receive a Maker Faire T-shirt, a day or weekend pass, and our boundless thanks.
